4 Money Saving Hacks You Need to Try Today

Updated: Aug 26, 2019

As a college student or recent graduate (or anyone for that matter) you’re probably looking for every way possible to make an extra buck or save some money. Being in this position, I hunted all over the internet looking for ways to make some extra cash on the side. I came across a lot of recommendations but only found a few that are really worth the time. Because I value your time the same way I do mine, I will save you from the deep google search and let you in on which money saving and making programs are worth your time!

Disclosure: I have placed some affiliate links below that I may receive commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Keep in mind, however, these are all my personal recommendations that I stand by. I would not bring them to you if I did not believe in each item.

EveryDollar

Okay, so Dave Ramsey’s EveryDollar Budget is not a money maker in the traditional sense but it will save you money in the long run. This is a free budgeting app to keep track of where you are spending your money. Even though you are not making any extra cash from this app, learning to stick to a budget and following the financial peace steps will have an end result of more cash! I also recommend ready The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. This is the process I am currently using to get out of student debt.

Ibotta

Ibotta is great way to save money on groceries, an expense that you cannot get around. But there are even more great offers for hotels, electronics and more! You can scan your receipts or buy items through the app to earn money back on your purchases. I have made $100 back through Ibotta in a very short amount of time just by taking a few minutes to upload my receipts! Click here to get started!

Honey

Honey is an extension that you can add to your internet browser. I love Honey because it applies coupons to your purchases without any hassle! If that is not enough to convince you, you also get cash rewards back on your purchases. You end up making money back on items that you were planning on buying anyway so it is a win, win. Getting started is super here, click here to get to the money saving!

Swagbucks

Out of the 4 programs, I am newest to Swagbucks but so far I really like it. You answer surveys or watch videos to earn points which you can eventually trade in for gift cards. Swagbucks is a great way to kill time while you are waiting In line or sitting in a waiting room. Although this program takes longer to see a build up of cash, it is super easy to make a bit of change here and there with minimal effort! Get started on Swagbucks now by clicking here.
