1. Paint
If you are all in for a big project, I recommend new paint! This is great way to add a statement piece to your room. Changing one piece of large furniture in your room can drastically change the dynamic and look of a room.
2. New Hardware
This is small way to make a big impact on your dresser or hutch! Although there was no expensive or drastic change, it will feel like a new piece!
3. New top
Adding a new top can be a little tricky or a little expensive but is a great way to change the overall style of a piece. If you are going for a farmhouse look, I recommend adding wood planks to the top. It will completely transform your piece!
4. Stain
If you have a natural looking piece or one covered in paint, stripping the wood down and adding new stain will completely transform your hutch! This is a bit of a project if you do not have the space, time or money, so take this into consideration before starting this project
5. Distress It!
Adding a distress effect to a piece when you are re-staining or painting a piece will give a piece and your room character!
6. Remove the Drawers
Taking the drawers out and adding decorative baskets or shelves instead is an easy and effective way to make the piece seem one of a kind and brand new!
7. Tack Paper
You can add paper to the inside of a drawers, the side of the drawers, or the back of the hutch to give a pop of color or pattern!
8. Add tile (my personal favorite!)
For the back of your hutch (or a built in!) consider adding tile to give it new life! This is a simple touch that will make a statement piece out of your hutch!
